Letter from the Cofounder
Welcome back to Insight's 3rd season!

I am delighted to continue this series and share our music and insights with you. In the first two seasons of Insight, we realized what a rich community we have in the Bay Area. Thank you for all your support getting us off the ground!
This season, I have decided to expand upon our original mission statement-- to present music in the way it was originally performed-- by weaving in the traditions of contemporary music to create new traditions for today. You will notice each program this year has a mixture of both traditional classical music and contemporary music. My hope is to help open the door to both time periods so we can admire music in the big picture!

Atlas is our introduction to this idea, with pieces from the 1700s all the way to 2010s. Despite their large gap in composition date, there are many compositional similarities. Please enjoy!

The arts have always leaned on the support of patrons. Historical arts patrons like the Medici and Esterhazy families made it possible for us to hear iconic classical compositions we know and love today.
